Great store overall - friendly staff, good selection and prices. Love the homemade treats (e.g. cheeseburgers, Peanut Butter, and the Banana are Laika's favorites!) Especially love that they are open later than most higher-end pet stores.
Employees are the building blocks upon which a business like this continues to grow, because they are customer facing, as I'm sure ownership understands since they have been in business since 2002 successfully. I come from a family-owned business background myself, so I get it.
My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to stop in before heading grocery shopping. We were met with an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff who helped answer questions and offer suggestions for our grain-free bulldog. Overall, great experience! The coupons I received from the Frequent Barker club also helped seal the deal of utilizing Treats Unleashed!
Remember, we live in a capitalistic society and competition is steep. My wife and I continued shopping here for our Weimaraner not because of prices (mind you they are cheaper online for what we buy) but because of the friendly, customer comes first, staff and how accommodating and diplomatic they are, especially when they are running sales and specials.
In conclusion, my wife and I will continue to be customers to the Treats unleashed, but just not to the Des Peres location.
The store is small, but that's because they've limited themselves to carrying only healthier, premium foods and select items for your pet. I have cats, and as with most pet stores, they have more products for dogs. (I honestly don't know if they carry anything for any type of pet other than a cat or dog. I don't recall seeing it but could be wrong.)
Be sure to join the Frequent Barker Club, if only for the enjoyment you'll get out of calling yourself a "Frequent Barker."
My only critique to management at this location is to treat your customers like they are loyal customers and not a fly-by-the-night I could care less if you come back to my store type of customers. Again, this is strictly for management, the sales reps are great, just the management. I'm not going to name names, people. Management is a person too, so take this as a coaching/shadowing opportunity.
I absolutely love this store! Adorable cookies, cakes, and cake pops for dogs. A wide variety of chews to select. The staff is incredibly sweet and super friendly. I go once a week.
I'm not one to write a review, however, I am compelled to do so today. First, I love this store. My wife and I have been coming here with our weimaraner Luther was 8 weeks old. However, since management changed at this location I will be going to the Central West End location. Unfortunately for me, CWE is out of my way, but I will not let the manager's unfriendly customer service prevent me and my wife from continuing our tenure as a loyal customers.
This is a very nice specialty pet store that I visit from time to time. They make adorable dog treats here , and the store always smells amazing--almost like grandma has been baking oatmeal cookies! The treats are decorated and are so cute. You can even order a special birthday "cake" or decorated treat for your pet.
